28. Adopted. I'm a HUGE Starbucks lover as well as a major foodie, but in all honesty my family is the most important thing to me and they are what drive me every single day and the main reason why I do this and I want to tell you why.
To be frank, I came from the exact opposite, but I was given the chance to love and be loved. I was brought into a family who showed me what it was like to truly be loved by others. My adoption story and my upbringing have made me into such a family-oriented person (literally since I was so young). When I was in 6th grade, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. He was an orthopedic surgeon, so driven and so hard working. He currently lives in a memory care facility and I just think about how much things can change so quickly, even to the best and most kind-hearted people.
Family is ALWAYS something that I value and cherish most and that’s why I love photographing all stages from engagements to the wedding and then maternity and family sessions, all of it because they’re just that. Celebrating love and family just reminds me why I love that I get to photograph such precious moments in time for people. Time is life’s biggest thief and you blink and five years go by and photos really are one of the only ways, if not THE only way you’re able to pause time in a moment, reflect on the emotions and memories during that specific time, and cherish it forever.
