These Bonneville Salt Flats Utah Engagements definitely did not disappoint! I met up with Mandy and Dylan the DAY before their wedding for this session and it was so worth it! Originally this couple planned to get married in Michigan, but ended up changing their wedding to Utah due to the pandemic. I think it worked out exactly as it was meant to, because I am obsessed with their photos at the Salt Flats.
Most of the time I get to do engagement sessions with my couples at least a few months before their wedding day. Since I was traveling to Utah for their wedding, it worked out to do a session the day before. Getting to hang out with Mandy and Dylan before their wedding day was so much fun! I loved getting to know and to connect with them on a deeper level. On the day of the wedding Mandy and Dylan were so at ease in front of the camera and comfortable with me, that it made the entire experience even more amazing than it already was! Highly recommend considering day before the wedding engagement photos if it works better for you and your photographer!
Fun fact about Mandy’s dress. She saw it on the bachelorette and knew it would be perfect for their engagement photos. She did some research to find it and bought it! Loved Mandy’s sultry, yet sophisticated look in that dress.
This session with Mandy and Dylan at the Salt Flats was my second time being here. It’s truly a must-see destination for anyone visiting Utah and wanting to photograph or simply visit a unique spot.
The Bonneville Salt Flats cover 300,000 acres and are about an hour and a half west of Salt Lake City along I-80. It’s an expansive, flat space with a unique thick salt crust on the surface. Compared to the mountain views of Mandy and Dylan’s wedding location, the Salt Flats were like a whole other world. The day of their session we had the best golden hour! It was stunning! I had so much fun hanging out with this rad couple for their Utah wedding and engagements!
